Is it mandatory now for employers to provide medical insurance to their employees for Covid?

As coverage under ESI takes care of Covid-19, it is not mandatory to cover employees, who are already covered under ESI Act. Those who are out of coverage of ESI, some kind of medical insurance is advisable.

Dear Anonymous
In accordance with MHA notification wef 17.05.2020 all previous notification except those specifically annexed with notification dated 17.05.2020 have been ceased.
Hence obtaining of Medical Insurance for Covid-19 is not mandatory as on the date.
