Can anyone share the list of regulatory act and social security act with the act details?
From India, Jaipur
Hi Shailesh,

For what purpose you require this classification. Are you a student?

Legally, there is no such categorisation per se, but depending on the application one can broadly list them under these categories for limited purposes of analysis. For e.g. Payment of wages Act, Bonus Act, Gratuity act, EPF & EPS,ESIC Act, Maternity Benefit act, Employees Compensation Act, Sexual Harassment in Workplace(Prevention)-POSH act etc., which are though can be considered containing certain stipulations, but mainly takes care of the welfare of the employees. On the other hand for regulating industry & commerce there are certain acts such as the Factories Act, Shops & Commercial Estt.Act, Mines Act, National & Public Holidays act, Contract act etc and various other pertinent Rules enacted thereunder are meant for administration of the respective sectors. However grouping of all these acts under 'Codes' subsuming in fewer is underway. Soon we'll know these.

From India, Bangalore
All the labour laws whether it is regarding welfare of employees or disciplinary in nature are required to be abided by.
As stated by honorable member,
Factories, etablishments and and business enterprise needs to have licenses and regierations to be done for their business and comply accordingly,
While doing so it is also obligatory to ensure social safety and welfare of employees and hence the other welfare laws do come in to the purview of compliance with out fail.

Prof. Kumar,
With due respect, I submit as under:
Certainly there is a classification in the labour laws even though somewhere you may find there is no watertight compartment . This classification is now well recognised by the government by introducing various codes. The labour laws are now codified in to four categories viz. labour relating to wages, law relating to working conditions including safety, health etc., law relating to social security and law relating to industrial relation.
The queriest is asking for a list of regulatory and social security act.
Regulatory law means law relating to or regulating working conditions including safety, health etc. In this category Factory Act, S&E Act, Mines Act, Docks Act, CLRA Act, BOCW Act, Beedi Cigar Act, ISMW Act and some more. All this Acts regulates employment and service conditions. All this Acts also regulates the requirements of registration or licence.
In social security laws, enactments like PF Act, ESI Act, EC Act, POG Act, MB Act will fall.
I hope the queriest got answer to his query.
