Hello Everyone, Can anyone please tell me, what is the percentage of basic pay, da, hra, special allowance, conveyance, washing allowance, medical allowance and night shift allowance in gross pay?

Dear Jegatheshd1,

There is no such percentage of basic pay, da, hra, special allowance, conveyence, washing allowance, medical allowance and night shift allowance to gross pay except as mentioned in Code of Wages.

Giving salary in various components is called splitting of salary. It is not mandatory to split the salary in various components unless by law you are liable to pay certain allowance e.g. HRA in 5% in Maharashtra.

You are splitting the salary for various reasons as it suits you and for various reasons you know better.

There is a mandate that you have to pay basic component as per minimum wage rate. This means you can not keep basic component less than minimum wage rate as applicable. Minimum Wage consists of Basic + DA + RA.

As per the Code On Wages, Wages means Basic + DA + RA.

As per the Code On Wages, Basic + DA should be min 50% of Gross.

As per the Code On Wages, Wages in Kind should not be more than 15% of Gross.

As per the Code on Wages, Wages other than Basic + DA + RA, in excess to 50% of it, shall be treated as wages.

As per the Code on Wages, Wages in kind in excess of 15% of Gross, shall be treated as wages.

Wages are governed by the minimum wages act.Thus based on various state wise employment categories and considering levels of skills as skilled semi skilled, unskilled or highly skilled plus based on the regions or zones of places of work, state governments and central govt issues the notifications of wages and dearness or special allowances which is considered as basic minimum wages applicable to the employees in various states as per the category of employment.
Rest of the components like Hra ranges from 5, 10 ,15 percent to 24 Percent of Basic and DA in various types and clases of cities as applicable.
Other wages heads depends on what employer is offering as allowances etc.
Apart from this the statutory compliance heads also forms a part of ctc to be included other fringe benfits given to employees.
