Hello Seniors, Can anybody suggest, if we can use Bio metric in this current scenario. Do we have any guidelines / circulars mentioning Biometric not be used in industry? We are located in Mumbai and want to start biometric, is there any restrictions imposed for using biometric in manufacturing units.

In the current scenario, bio-metric system could be used. However, the SOP by State/Central Govts and District Administration shall be strictly followed, like social distancing, sanitizing, thermal screening etc.

In the system where finger prints are used, a big bucket of soap water with clean cotton cloth shall be made available. Employees shall wash their hands with soap water and also clean the surface of the bio-metric where finger or thumb is placed, before and after displaying finger/thumb

It is also advisable to make available one company supervisor's service at the time of
IN/OUT of staff members. This is the case where large number of employees are working.

In companies where small number of employees are working, instead of bio-metric, manual attendance system could be worked out and the security guard at the Main gate of factory/establishment can note the names of employees at entry & exit time of companies.
