Depending upon the size of the organisation, their market share and employment practices the salary of Office Assistant can vary from Rs 8000 to Rs 15000. This being a staring salary, the salary that one may get can increase based on the experience. It can go beyond say forty thousand also. The minimum wages notification issued by the government of Kerala also governs the salary payable to each category of employees. If covered as a scheduled employment, it shall not be less than Rs 12000.
Factories have a leave pattern different from shops and other establishments. Employees in factories need not get any lave during their first year of service. From the second year onwards they will get one day for every 20 days worked in the preceding year. That may go upto 15 days. However, the employees in shops and other commercial establishments get 12 days casual leave, 12 days sick leave and after twelve months of working 12 days earned leave.
