My wife is pregnant and expected date of delivery is 18 Sep 2020. She is not at work since 22 Jan 2020 due to pregnancy.
She has following contribution.
March 19 to Sep 19 - 148 days
Oct 19 to Match 20 - 90 days
March 20 to Sep 20 - 0 days
Her employer is saying she will not getting any maternity benefit since she is not at work (as per their consultant opinion)
Will she get maternity benefit?

If she is not getting covered under the ESI Act, then the employer would be liable under the Maternity Benefit Act 1961. She fulfils the eligibility period of service as per the Act.

Dear Ganesh, Please log in to ESI IP Portal with ESI Insurance Number & check eligibility for Maternity Benefit.If not eligible under ESI, She will be eligible for Maternity Benefit by the Employer

She has to report before the Medical Officer of the concerned ESI Dispensary and the rest they will advise.

Dear Mr Ganesh,
She is not at work since 22 Jan 2020 due to pregnancy.is it on Medical Grounds supported by Medical Certificate preferably by ESI Medical Officer
My wife is pregnant and expected date of delivery is 18 Sep 2020.It is better to visit nearest ESI Dispensary with Aadhaar Card & ESI TIC to get clarity in the matter
8 Months before expected date of delivery, she is not going for work.Please furnish all relevant details to get specific reply

When is he expected date of delivery? She may go to the nearest ESI dispensary also. If online services are available, they can assist her.

Thanks for your reply.
She has medical issues so private doctor advised two months bed rest and we have certificate for same. She was supposed to join on 22nd of March, but due to lockdown she couldn't.

Hello Madhu sir,
Expected date of delivery is 18 Sep 2020.
Her Insurance Medical Practitioner dispensary is closed and his contact no also not available.
Need help.
Her employer not assisting to get it and branch office also closed.
