Considering the coronavirus scare and epidemic, many companies are giving priority to the health n safety of its employees and encouraging them to work from home..its no longer the once in a blue moon annual activity BCP (Business Continuity plan)..i think with stronger 4G network and wifi connection, its prudent that most companies should accept this new age working pattern which will be a reality few years down the line considering the related employee costs to company (higher office rents, electricity, water supply, transport, internet and phone charges, security personal n housekeeping expenses, maintenance of office space, etc)..
Companies can literally earn more profits if they save on these costs...from the employees point, it can help save 1 to 3 hrs daily commutation to and fro to office, employees can give more time to family, relocation cost can be addressed in effective manner..considering the stricter immigration rules now imposed by many countries, it makes sense to work remotely from anywhere, anytime, any place and in any time zone in the world..remote working is inevitable..the more sooner this corporate culture is embraced by companies, the more better business preparedness for future challenges

After COVID 19 ends, many companies will seriously think of permanently or temporarily making employees/ positions wherever possible to WFH or to make employees work in rotational basis (from office and home) in order to save transportation cost, office space rent, infrastructure, security cost, housekeeping, electricity, water, maintenance, relocation allowance, etc and instead provide some kind of WFH allowance to employees..MNC can change talent acquisition by taking video conference interview and hiring foreign nationals on WFH basis mitigating work permit and visa requirement..In future, companies might ban giving International assignment to employees and asking them to work remotely for host country locations, instead of physically moving to host country and saving huge amount for International transfer, flight, per diem and related costs
