Dear All, I work in a company where we have 11 employees who sit in office and work. We are tired of telling them to come within 10 AM to office but no one is following the same. Even couple of times strict mail also being sent by of no use.
I do not wish to deduct their salaries as it will be too much deduction then and they will get very less salary. Pls suggest some ideas which can make them come on time to office.

Apart from sending email, you can find out the route cause of their late coming. Is the area where you work is in heart of the city or away from city? traffic jams? or it is just because of employees' indiscipline? What is the average age group of your employees?
Secondly, I think the following techniques will help -
1. Talk to employees about it and share your concern how work suffers etc.
2. Your senior person (top management) needs to reach office 15 min. before office
time and can observe who all are coming. It will be an indirect pressure on employees who come late and they will start coming in time.
3. Even if you don't want to deduct their salaries, warn them with a circular that management will now be taking strict action as deducting their payment (You don't have to do it immediately, observe the positive changes in employees' behaviour even if you just declare about strict action/ deduction)
If you observe drastic improvement in their timing, give them opportunity to build on it further i.e. don't go for deductions as deducting salaries is the last resort.

You have not mentioned whether you have implemented attendance punching system.
If not, please instal a small bio-metric system -which serve the purpose.
Discuss with your seniors about granting some grace time (in a day/month)
If your employees exeeds this grace time, you may resort to appropriate
deduction from their salary (however a prior notice needs to be exhibited
in the Notice board).
To start with, you can open a late comers register. If any person report to office
after the stipulated time, they may have to come to your table, and make entries
with their signature in the late comers register -
You will find some improvement, if you resort to the above procedure.
