In it companies, on not availaing lta flexible benefit,is the amount for lta after taxation goes to the employee or is it retained by the company
Hi this is my first job in an it company and in my ctc there is an lta component under flexible benefits.it amounts to rs50000. i am very much confused by this component and wish to know that if i donot go on travel leavei.e. donot avail lta will i get the amount set for lta after taxation or will it be retained by the company and whether this rule is uniform across all it companies. i have followed multiple forums but the responses are ambiguous with some saying that the amount resides with the employee on nonavail also and others saying it goes to the organization. please clarify my concern as it shall guide my joining the job. regards sainnni

Maternity benefits - how long should i wait if they just keep on giving excuses or asking me to wait
I am working in a private medical college since 13 july 2017 and applied for maternity leave on 26 march 2018. my delivery date was 17 april. earlier the hr was saying that they will give leave with pay for 1.5 month..they even not have paid my salary for march..when i asked for salary and maternity benefits..he said they will pay for march but for maternity benefits he will talk to his seniors and all..and now he is not even picking up my calls.. they are actually deficient of staff.. it seems when i will join only then they will give my march salary and will not pay for maternity leave period..and nothing was mentioned about maternity benefits in my joining letter.. sir plz tell me am i eligible for maternity benefits as i work in a pvt institute.. i don t know whether that institute comes under esi scheme or not. in which legal section it s mentioned that pvt institutes are also bound to pay the benefits for 24 weeks.. they haven t mentioned anything about maternity benefits in joining letter.. how it will help me. employer is to pay full salary or only basic pay how long should i wait if they just keep on giving excuses or asking me to wait

Hellow group members i invite you to submit query on taxation of varius salary components as per indian income tax acts. i would also request members to give their advice/ view on the subject in order to solve the query. this is my experience that understanding on taxation of salary components as per income tax act of india differs with person and therefore this topic may be helping people to resolve the differences. my experience is based on the recent query on the forum in terms of children education allowance and i am reproducing below the correct position on taxation of children education allowance as per i tax act of india. as per income tax act of india the position is as follows children education allowance exemption is limited to rs 100/ per month per child to a maximum of 2 childs. however in case the child stays in a hostel then a sum of rs 300/ per month is exempted. thanks pankaj patodi
