Should I mention any clause in the Appraisal letter regarding job Resigning? A clause is employee cant leave job after appraisal at least for a period of three months, if he resigned then the respective amount will be deducted from  your full and final amount
Hi,
Increment disbursement after Performance Appraisal is purely for the past year performance. Revoke of increment if employee submit resignation within stipulated time frame from the effective date of increment is not ethical. However of late many employer follow this and they need a separate clause in the increment letter itself stating that " in case of resignation within ___months from the effective date of increment, then Company reserves the right to revoke the increment offered from the full and final settlement "
Employers point of view is that this clause will reduce the number resignations immediately after credit of new salary. However they don't have any hold if the employees submit resignation after 3 or 6 months from the effective date of increment.
This is not ethically right. Rather implementing the increment revoke option they should analyze why employees leave their organization.
On the other hand employees act of resignation immediately after resignation to gain more hike (from current and new employer) is also not right. When resignation number go beyond limit employers are forced to implement increment revoke policy.
So both employer and employees need to change their thought process.
