Even if a National Holiday falls on a Sunday, wages/ salary will be paid for the number of days available in a calendar month (31 days in this case). Only if an employee works on a National Holiday, he would be paid twice the wages, which has to be done with prior intimation in the prescribed format to the competent authority.

Babu AlexanderMy opinion would be the employee eligible for wages for 27 days. one day additional wages to be paid for the national / festival holiday, even though it falls on Sunday.
