I am asked to add a clause to existing employees offer letter that going forward notice period will be 2 months instead of 1 month, other terms of employment remain same. Kindly help me with the format.

This act of amendment of notice period clause is a unilateral decision of the employer if it is not discussed with all employees. This should be discussed with all employees first and official letter should be issued to them in office letter head and they should acknowledge it as a token of acceptance. Alternatively you may implement for the future new joinees which will not be an issue.
