Dear Deepti,
Creation of organisation structure and career path for the employees are two separate things, These are independent of each other.
An organisation structure starts with MD. Then find out who are his direct reportees. Thereafter, HoDs and thereafter managers.
Regarding the preparation of the career path, just yesterday, I have given a reply to a similar query. Click the following link to refer it:

Dear Deepti,
you have raised two different issues in your mail. 1. Org. Structure and 2. creating a growth path for employees.
The purpose of the Org. structure is to fix the positions in the organisation, their reporting system and to control line and staff functions in an effective manner. This can help you to fix the responsibilities and accountabilities of the positions.
However, the creation of a growth path for employees is the combination of Organisational growth and competence development(Capability Building) of your Human capital. You have to focus on technical as well as behaviour competence for the growth of an individual.
You may send your queries or can talk over the phone for further detailed discussions.
