The code provides only 26 definitions of different terms taken from four existing Act, with certain changes and modifications in some definitions.
The code has 68 Sections in 9 Chapters which subsumes four existing Acts namely

Minimum Wages Act,
Payment of Wages Act,
Payment of Bonus Act and
Equal Remuneration Act.

The new Bill has been approved by both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha published in the Official Gazette after approval of presidential assent on August 08th, 2019.
The Date of Commencement of Act yet to notify by the Government.
The Code on Wages will substitute the
Payment of Wages Act, 1936,
Minimum Wages Act, 1948,
Payment of Bonus Act, 1965, and
Equal Remuneration Act, 1976.
