Hi Everyone, I need clarification on the below clause, request everyone to kindly respond on the below:
A) Maternity leave may be applied by (Expectant Women) women employees in their last 2 months or 8 weeks of pregnancy and (New Mothers) women within 6 months from the date of delivery.
1. Do expectant Women mean one who already has a child?
2. Does this clause mean that Expectant Women can start maternity leave in their last 2 months
3. Does this clause mean that New Mothers should start their maternity leave within 6 months from the date of delivery?
B) employees can avail 2 months leave without pay (LWP) in addition to Maternity leave. For the same, employee will need to take prior approval.
Query: Is this applicable for Expectant women as well?

From India, Bengaluru
