I have been working 3 years for a company but now I cannot manage and survive with my financial needs. Though I need more compensation, I really love to be the part of this company because I have got all the freedom and work satisfaction here. I am quite confused with 2 of my plans now. Plan 1 - No new job search. Talk to him upfront saying, this is my situation - I like to continue here but place a request to increase my compensation.
Plan 2 - Get an offer, raise resignation and convey my points when boss calls me for 1-1 ( We are making so many road map activities together everyday, so If I choose this plan, it really shocks him and I cannot face him after. Also I feel guilty).
Which plan should I choose ? Request advice on my situation.

Plan ! is not a bad idea but many things have to be considered.
How many employees are there?
Can your boss increase wages without impacting others?
Are you certain he will listen/
Plan 2 is OK
Get a job and plan to quit if your current employer does not increase your salary.
There are many variables in this situation which you need to check out and think carefully.
Take a deep thought,analyse all angles before venturing to discuss increase of pay with boss.inlcuding whether there is an annual increment,performance analysis of work etc in your company.
