Can a company terminate and ask to pay for unpaid leaves taken?
Hi i worked in a mnc for 5 years. i recently fell sick and had taken leave for the same. since my condition did not improve i had to take all my leaves annual and sick. i was informed that my leaves got over and will go on unpaid leave to which i agreed since i had no option. later i was asked to leave job and join back later once i recovered. now i have received mail from hr asking me to pay for the unpaid leaves that i took or my relieving letter will not be given since the leaves will be given based on pro rata basis. no body ever told me about paying to the co. now my question is can the co ask anyone to leave the job provided they are on sick leave with valid reasons. second should the employee pay to the company for the unpaid leaves taken.

Leave without pay on disciplinarygrounds
I am working in software service based company.i have taken leave of 50 working days due to sickness.but my company doctor is not approving the certificates and medical documents i have submitted. so my hr is asking me to write a letter stating that i was at fault and i have taken prolonged leave and will not repeat it in future.i have asked him about the consequence of this letter and he replied that as this is the first incident the company will issue me warning letter only.but i am not sure about it.also i will mention that i am under a bond period of 2 year owing to an amount of 50000 .please suggest iare they going to take this letter and use it to ask for resignation? iiwill they mention it in my experience/relieving letter? iiiwhat if i stick to my medical reasons and refuse to write the letter?
