Dear Kristi,

Setting targets is a small part of the business plan. However, the major portion of the business plan belongs to understanding the market, understanding the customers, understanding the competitors, etc. Have you done that?

I ask these questions because I provide consulting services on the preparation of the business plan.

Dear Dinesh,

Thank you for your reply; we value your inputs. Our niche is the FMCG industry, which is the 4th largest sector in the Indian Economy. To be honest, we haven't conducted an in-depth research about this sector, but it is set to grow between 12-13%.

I think I may have phrased my question incorrectly. What we want to know is how to measure the growth of a new recruitment firm. What is the minimum number of mandates a firm should have with 2-3 recruiters? How much revenue should be generated on average every month? Any insights regarding the above questions would be highly appreciated.
