On medical leave with medical certificate & i have 45 PL leave balance - Can company terminate me in this case?

Dear Sir/Mam, I am working a Company As a HR. Presently i am on medical leave with medical certificate & i have 45 PL leave balance in my account.Employer wants to terminate me. Can company terminate me in this case plz advise ?
