Hi..I am working in mnc. I was on ml for 6 months and took one month extension by providing certificate. Now when I resumed my work..I was asked (politely) to look for another profile/job/role within same department or outside my department. Reason : they think that I had supported them well but my replacement was also equally good. I feel really cheated and betrayed and would like to join my position back...

I don't think that there is any legal issue in the change of profile/job/role within the same department or elsewhere within the same organization after the poster's rejoining after such long authorized leave. Since it is a transfer of services of the employee after her long leave either as an inter department or intra department nature on the ground of exigencies of work, it is well within the managerial prerogative of the employer to do so and as such it has nothing adverse to do with her maternity benefits already she availed of..
