Hi, I'm Manasa an MBA graduate with HR specialization,
I recently joined an small software Software start up company in Mysore, Karnataka.,with employees of 13 employees and also has a few tie up's with other companies and the company also has a few sister companies working for it.
My query is,
1. Our company did not have pf before and we recruited 5 employees for our Bangalore branch recently and those employees CTC is good and more compared to employees working in Mysore.
now the Bangalore employees who have recently recruited are asking for PF and where as the Mysore employees do not want PF as their current salary itself is very less so they do not want any deductions and the management is also not ready to make hike in the current employees salary. company has a plan of moving the current Mysore employees to their sister company so that there is no necessary to pay PF as there will be less than 10 employees.
So i request you to suggest me a solution so that help our employees.
2. Management has incentive based salary system to the software employees. i want only marketing employees to get incentive base salary how do i speak to my management and get a standard salary format to our employees.
3. And i would also request you to suggest me a few hr initiatives to take up as it is a start up company and i am learning a few hr activities from my own.
4. Also i request you to brief me about recent PF rules
Thank you waiting for the help

Dear Friend,
1. As your company having 10 employees means you required to register under ESIC. ( Esic applicability is 10 or more employees including Directors).PF applicability is 20 or more employees employed in any organisation.
2. Your 2nd point is not clear so need more clarity.
3. You are very lucky that you have got a chance to work in start up company, where you can make full use of your skills and knowledge and build good workplace, No one remembers 3 rd or 4th person worked in HR but the First person worked in HR department that always remembers to all.
You may take following initiatives to develop good and healthy workplace.
1. Create environment of learning of new things.
2. Rooster awards
3. Ice breaker sessions
4. Employee engagement activities
5. Birthday & Anniversary celebration
4. Now In PF, new rule has been implemented regarding contribution of employees, Whatever the allowances providing from employer in payslip, that allowances will be considering as Basic for calculation purpose but HRA exempted.
