What should an HR do when a good performer whom your company doesn't want to loose, has behavioural issues? He doesn't participate in any activity, doesn't pay attention to any company policy.
Counsel him
Interact with him.
Spend some time to find out what makes him tick.Eventually however good a person is, he cannot be above company policy and if he does not change, it will be wise to leave him free to exit.
yes periodical counseling might help. Have one to one session with him and find out the reason behind his behavior. All the same indiscipline at work place cannot be tolerated for performance sake.
