I joined Infosys 3 months ago. The verification process conducted by Infosys failed during inquiries with the first company where I worked as a fresher (in 2012). This first company had harassed me during the service of my notice period and also put a negative feedback in my relieving letter. In my applications for my subsequent jobs, I submitted a 'modified' version of the relieving letter by removing the portions containing the negative feedback.
Upon this discovery, Infosys has issued me a show cause notice for submitting forged documents.
However, my stand is that while I agree I have modified the letter by removing the negative comments, I have not faked my experience duration and other details in any manner. I have submitted proofs to them to including form 16, bank statements, salary slips.
I would like to know whether Infosys would still have grounds to terminate my employment?
