I am a woman who was hired as a fresher in a BPO as an HR executive. Since my performance was satisfactory, I was given a lot of responsibilities like organizing fun activities and managing my executive duties too. Three months ago, an AVP (woman) in operations decided to give me feedback by saying I'm not focused at work and asked if I am dating someone from work.

While I clarified that I am focused and not dating anyone, she now singles me out by pairing me with an agent and then states it's biological because men and women are made differently. She implied that I may think I'm attractive and people are paying attention, hence the lack of focus, which isn't the case! I have actually decided to move out from the process she leads or quit, which I informed my senior manager. This decision was discovered by the AVP, and she told me it's not a big deal. I don't know what I should do since I've completed 15 months, and it's been humiliating for me to work this way.

Dear member, if you are an HR Executive in a BPO, then you must be reporting to some senior HR. Have you discussed your problem with your reporting authority from HR? If yes, what was his/her take?

If your performance was not up to the mark, then why did the AVP (Ops) give this feedback to you? Why not your HOD?

Since we do not know the internal dynamics of the company, it will be difficult for us to give our opinions. Secondly, have you submitted your formal letter of resignation? If yes, are you in the notice period? Instead of quitting the company, was the option of changing departments available to you? If yes, then why did you not avail of that?

Thanks,
