Hi, I have ten years experience in IT industry and am experienced in windows server,virtualisation and citrix technologies. Unfortunately i couldnt complete my +2 but I managed to pass a degree through open university. Will companies hire me?

Acquiring degree is one thing and possessing in-depth knowledge & competency in the specialised fields, hands-on proficiency is another think. If you are good enough to convince the selectors with your proficiency having long 8 yrs of experience that should bag the offers. Most of the Open U'sity degrees would be suitable for serving employees who are required to qualify the essential higher graduation which is likely to be suitable for confirmation,promotions & statutory posts. For a fresher degrees from open U'sity generally not taken seriously as you know,when scores of candidates from regular courses are competing in the open. I'm not to be mistaken as discouraging. When you have age and resources regular courses is comparatively better. But in your case your experience should solve the difficulties. Be positive and keep knocking the doors, I'm sure you will achieve, don't worry if you fail in the stride, demands are plenty.

You will not be hired on-roll or directly by any listed / good company since you don't have 10+2+3.
Since you are in IT industry you will get plenty of consultant rolls through TPAs.
So keep good track and contact with leading TPAs to get you good offers.

Distance Education is given second priority during preliminary screening and for promotions. Candidates who have completed regular courses are given priority. Attending regular classes, attending lectures and taking down notes, industrial visits, attending seminars and general college activities gives regular course candidates an edge over distance education candidates who are not exposed to any of these. With your 10 year experience you should have good contacts in the industry which should find you openings to apply for.
