Dear all i am posting this for my brother. he studied mechanical engineering from college of engineering guindy popularly known as anna university and has 7 arrears. just to let you know abt him he is not a bad student at all... he was the topper in school in his higher secondary exams and had district ranks too... and he is very good in his logical & analytical and managerial skills he is working for a small company in chennai that operates on molding but does not seem to gain much experience there. now my concerns are... 1. is it mandatory for him to complete his arrears for placement? 2. if he does a certificate course in pieline engineering/ airconditioning engineering or other related courses can he get placed before completing his arrears? 3. if yes what are all the courses that has good scope now? please suggest the career path for him. thank you madhu

Sick employee wants to continue work
Hi all we are an engineering company. one of our employees went on sick leave since he was diagnosed with a minor stone problem now he has joined back saying the doctor has advised him to take medicines for some days and he will be diagnosed again after 15 days and if the stone is still there then he will have to undergo surgery. he is an engineer who has to work on construction sites. his doctor has refused to give him a fit to work certificate. my query is: should we allow him to work considering his condition. if he wants to continue should we get an undertaking signed from him that he has chosen to work and the company will not be liable in case something happens to him while at work. kindly advise.. regards jyoti
