PoSH Law update - Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Law.
The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013
Majority of the employers and employees are unaware of the existence of the above law and only big corporates like Tata, Birlas, Nestle have been complying with the law. The MeToo movement has brought out old buried skeletons of sexual harassment that took place decades ago thereby tarnishing the image of big corporates like Google, Uber, Fox and more. The Social Media coupled with the MeToo movement has been a wake up call for both employers and employees to create a harassment free workplace which would benefit the employers, employees, the society at large and create a win-win situation for all stakeholders. The benefit of having an Anti-Sexual Harassment policy would bring in better and safe working conditions for women, increase productivity for employers, improve profits, and create a better brand value for the company.
There is an urgent need to implement the law in the wake of the MeToo Era!
