As more dynamic and competitive business models is becoming more common, so is the concept of remote sales force. Today businesses of all sizes specially SME and startups have more diverse and scattered sales force. It is easy to deploy the remote salesforce but managing and supervising them is tough task.
Generally in a sales structure we find the sales manger placed at company headquarter or major corporate office and his team spread throughout his region. It is practically not possible to follow every sales person around with his daily activity, so this gradually leads to a decrease in productivity of the remote team. If you try to have a conversation with a sales manager about the issues he generally faces, this will always be among the first few on their list.
Browned off because of this issue few of the sales manager have tried out different hacks to track their teams. While having a conversation with one such sales manager I figured out an amazing technique he was using to track down his team’s movement. He made a Whatsapp group for his team and every morning the team is supposed to share their live location, and this is how he tracks down the movement of his team, its kind of funny but it works.
But the point I’m trying to make is that, this automation should be done by their HR software. A situation of this sort should not at all be an issue to managers who manages remote employees. A hire to retire HR means it should have a diversified attendance management software and what good is an attendance software which does not help in tracking the attendance of remote employees.
I would like to put in some of the features in an attendance management software must have-
• Real-time Attendance Display – An attendance management software should showcase the real-time attendance of all employees. The status of employees when he moves out or moves into the campus should be instantly synced and displayed along the portal.
• Daily effective Hours calculation – It is very important to keep a track of the effective hour an employee spends in the office, the time they leave the premise for a short break till the time they return will be counted as non-working time and would automatically be removed from effective hour count. This feature is very important to calculate the punctuality and productivity.
• Remote Clock-In/Out – One of the most important feature is the ability to clock In and Out remotely into the system, the system should fetch the location of these instances along with the IP addresses associated with the device.
• Geo-fencing – This feature restricts the employee to Log into the system for attendance outside a specific location boundary. This feature is very helpful in case of remote employees.
• Work from Home – This feature allows the employee to punch in the attendance in case they are working from home.
• Mobile attendance system – A mobile application is very important for remote employees to track in their location and punch in easily.
Finally, an attendance management system should be strategical with the complete HR software so that the organization can have a 360degree view of employees and their stats.
