Can employees' share to pf deducted from gross/basic pay? can both pf contribution deducted monthly from salary?
Hi all can an employee s contribution be deducted from gross salary each month before deducting employer s share from monthly ctc? for example mr. x s monthly ctc is 268000 with structure of basic 15000 hra 7500 allowance 2500 pf 12℅ 1800 total 26800 so can a company first deduct employees' contri. to pf from basic salary and after that deduct employer s share too? 268001800180023200 in hand salary? is that acceptable? or it should be 26800180025000? i really need to understand this. when they said employer s share is part of ctc so do both pf share will be part of salary structure of ctc or just one pf? if only one pf amount is part of salary structure than how can employees contri is deducted from basic salary after that? any explanation will be appreciated. thank you in advance

24% deduction of pf from the salary - provisions in the pf act for the same?
Hi all i am working in a company which deducts around 24 pf from the salary when enquired they said that when the salary was offered they had calculated the 12 of pf from the employer s side in the offer made and then given us the package so in that case they say now exactly 24 of pf is deducted from the salary. are they any such provisions in the pf act for the same??? can 24 be deducted directly from the employee s salary? can the company take this decision as a policy withouth the consent of the employee??? can this create a problem in near future wherein the company refuses us to pay the 12 from their side how do we get a proof that the company is depositing the employer s 12 share into the pf account?? please answer asap
Pf deducted but not deposited to pf deptt
Hi i worked for 2.5 years in my earlier company in mumbai and my pf was deducted on a monthly basis. after i left i submitted all the pf documents but there was no information of the same from the company. when i enquired i came to know from one of trusted sources that the company only deducted but never deposited the same to pf department . also i came to know that the companies pf no. is of bangalore hence i was informed that any complaint to pf should be to pf office bangalore. i have all the salary slip where my pf no. and pf deductions are clearly mentioned. please guide if possible regards rajesh shetty

Hi i had joined a company 6 months back. my salary earnings are as follows: basic salary: 2250 hra: 1125 conveyance: 800 lta: 188 medical: 1250 special allowance is 1880 which makes it rs 7500 pm in total. this is my fixed pay per month. apart from this i have rs 30000 p.a as variable expenditure which will be paid to me after i complete one year in this company. and if i quit the company before the 1 year term i wouldn t be eligible for this variable pay apart from this rs 175 is deducted as professional tax. everything went on smooth till december. but in the salary of december they deducted pf from my salary. and they deducted 24 of my basicda12 employee contribution 12 employer s contribution stating that it is mentioned in the appointment letter. and they deducted the pf without getting my signatures required for the pf application form. we got the appointment letter only in the month of october 2007. that is 3 months after joining the company. 1. now my question is that they have deducted pf only for few people and not for everyone. so can anyone pls tell me to whom the pf is mandatory and to whom it is not i mean the salary range 2. is it necessary for me to pay the contribution of pf on behalf of the employer too? as it is mentioned in the appointment letter. or is there any law stating it illegal for an employee bearing the contribution of the employer?

Is there any hidden benefit that the company enjoys by deducting higher pf from the employee s salary? i have recently joined a new company and my pf deduction is nearly double that of an exemployee whose ctc was much more. to be precise for my ctc of 15000 the pf deducted is nearly double of the pf deducted from the salary of the other person whose ctc was 20000. this inspite of the management promising me a salary structure where i could get maximum amount as take home and the deductions would be minimum. on discrete enquiries with the hr staff they did not have the faintest clue as to what could be the reason behind this. but i did get to know that if they wanted the management could withold sending signed papers to the pf department to release the pf amount of the employee and that they have done so in the past. i thought once the pf was deducted and deposited with the pf department no one could meddle with it and that the employee had the sole right to it. can anyone explain this. thanking you all in advance. radha
