My company in June,18 decided to pay the salary for May,18 @ 12.5% per month along with the salary of the current month latest by 30th of the current month. This was decided in a meeting of the management with some of the department heads. Although we got the salary of June as decided upon within that month but for July we got the salary before 15th August.Now for the plant shutdown from 14th August onwards we are yet to get the salary for the month of August,18.
My query is if an employee can seek salary advance against the pending May,18 salary which the company has denied to pay.They have asked to take advance only against the salary for the month of August,18. Kindly inform if the company is right in denying the payment of salary advance.
