I am joining a company as Asst. Manager HR and now i need to handle a factory independently and i need to show my performance. I need some feedback from known people about job role and what are all the action i can take to improve recruitment, Reduce absenteeism and attrition without effecting on cost and managing the people in the factory. Please advice.
Please get well versed with SOP, Staff, Day to day issues, Unions and their leaders, everything about deployed staff and their successors, labour contractors, labour requirement, processes, machinery, polish your knowledge about standing orders, factories act, ID act. Always keep track of various returns and compliance.
Believe me absenteeism will be one of the major issue and affects the production. Issuing warnings, Show cause, conducting inquiries will be major part of your job. Payroll will be different for staff and workers.
Attrition in manufacturing doesn't majorly occur in workers although marketing staff keeps on switching.
