Whether an employee is eligible for payment of bonus for the last year i.e. for the year 2015-16 as arrear, if he was not paid by the office?
Please help me to find the answer.

Hello there,
Most of the companies they show bonus component in CTC structure, and the same they will give in yearly bonus or monthly bonus, if the ctc has the same, you should give them the bonus.
employee still working with you? if yes you can clear that amount, if not do his F&F and add his bonus to that calculation.

Dear Anony,
Payment of statutory bonus is to be paid within 8 months after the closure of accounting year. In case you were eligible for it in the FY 2015-16, and the company did not pay it then; you may be eligible to receive it as arrears now .
Please help us understand the following to advise better:
1. Why was the bonus not paid at the end of FY 2015-16?
2. Why did you not ask for it before?
3. What was your basic (+da) salary per month in fy 2015-16?
4. What is the nature of business of your employer and how old are they?
5. In case they are more than 5 years old, are they making any profits?

First point is was Bonus applicable to him as per the law.
If yes than it should and must be paid.
