Lta at the time of final settlement
I had just resigned from a mnc after working for more than 2 years. at the time of final settlement i have not received lta amount which is about rs.60000.00. as per the hr team i will not get the same as i had not applied for lta claim. any body pls help me to know about if the same is in lta act?

Hi.. i am getting lta allowances from my company & my ctc is not taxable. as my salary is not taxable i dont need to submit travelling bills. i have taken 1 month leave for my studies but i have not travel anywhere. so i wanted to know can i claim for lta or not? i have pending lta for 2 years.
Payment of lta as salary if not traveled
Lta is a part of my salary ctc in my current employment with a private firm in raipur. i have not claimed any tax exemption and paid taxes tds on my lta amount in financial year 201415 as i had not gone for any travel through out the year. the finance department of the company demands travel bills for payment of lta part of my ctc in salary otherwise they will not pay it at all. please clarify that is lta not payable to employee without travel bills in this situation?

Dear all pls answer my query the lta years as defined by the govt are calender years and not financial years but in the books of accounts the salary claims etc have to be settled by financial year end. let me know if the following is the correct way to settle the lta claims by organisation. the current lta block is 2010 2013 1. in case the employee travels & claims lta with proofs till dec 2010 we process the lta as per the rules anytime before march on bills production. 2. in case the employee doesnt travel till dec 2010 then for the lta amount of 2010 we deduct tax & pay him the amount under the lta head in the month of march2011. similarly follow this pattern for year 2011. just want to know if my understanding is right or there is any other way of handling the lta payment cycle. regards
