It is not compulsory to submit Medical certificate for 1 day leave.
If it is compulsory, that is because it is your company policy- which you will be obliged to follow.
No, it is not necessary. If you have taken Sick Leave more than two than it is compulsory.
Every organisation has different policies to submit medical certificates in cases of sick leaves. Please check your organisation's policy.

Usually most of the companies allow 1 day sick leave without any proof of medical certificate. But then again as many others have already indicated, it is the company policy that rules the day. Check with your HR and go accordingly.
Thanks and Regards
if the employee take such leaves frequent way, multiple times in a month, on the edge of work load, then the management ask for it, other wise there is no need
No, it is not compulsory to submit medical certificate for one day sick leave unless you take it after availing three other kind of leaves such as casual leave or earned leave making fourth day as sick leave. Then there is a reason for the employer to get suspicious and he may ask for medical certificate for your illness.
It is notable that whatsoever rules and regulations of the company are, they cannot over-rule the statutory benefits available to the employees under legislation such as Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, Factories Act or any other such law. The employer may give more leaves than are legally available to an employee but in no case he can give less leaves than prescribed under applicable labour laws.
Suppose you have stomach ache or head ache. No doctor will be able to certify that yes this person was suffering from head ache or stomach ache unless such person is diagnosed with some other kind of disease which affects head or stomach also.
Best wishes and regards.
This is not compulsory to submit , medical certificate for one day only, till HR policy of your company is not say to do so. This may be required if a person is taking leave after weekend or before weekend than HR or manager can ask you submit certificate .
