suicide in factory there is required to intimation to factory inspector?
Any incident happened whether it is an accident or death while on duty including suicide should be informed to the Inspector of Factories and Boilers or the Labour Officer,as the case may be.
Yes you need to inform the Factory Inspector on the death be it suicide or otherwise. It is the Factory Inspector to make the report after performing general inspection. Please refer Section 88 of the Factories Act, 1948.
Dear NVparmar,
There is a provision in Factory Act Section 88 & 88A notice of accident & notice of dangerous occurrence respectively. In my view, suicide is neither an accident nor a dangerous occurrence. Therefore, legally you are not liable to report this incident to Factory Inspector. However, if you report it, what harm you will have?

In case of any incident or accident is happening inside the factory prmises, it is mandatory to inform the factory inspector within 24 hours of cause of incident in writing. In the instant case one death has caused reason may be what but to be reported immidiately to the office of th Factory Inspector as well as to the local police station.
