Someone, please tell me what is the current law for maternity benefit in private sector companies in May,2018.

There is no separate law for private sector, the MB Act is common to all.
17th May 2018 From India, Mumbai
Maternity Leave has been increased to 26 Weeks. Creche facility is to provided by employer if more than 50 workers are employed by employer. Also every new woman worker needs to be told about benefits under the act to her.
These three things have brought into force by 2017 Amendment Act.
