You are shifting from Bio to software. There must have been some reason for this shift. What ever motivated you to take this shift needs to be explained in logical fashion.

Actually, i would like to answer like this " i love software as well as biology but finally i want to be in software field. so, to include biology in my academic path i have chosen biotechnology and even in biotech, there is a subject called BIOINFORMATICS which deals with computer software and the first year students of all respective branches have the common subjects like C languages. On other hand we have an elective system where we can choose few subjects from CSE branch."
is this enough? as an HR how you react after listening to this Sir/Mam?

Should be ok enough.
The confident way you speak will make a difference.
Link between your two interests should be spelt out.
Be more informed on bioinformatics in depth view..
The way you answer questions, demeanour and confidence as a whole will help.
No single question will determine your success in the interview.
What type of job have you applied for?

Dear colleague,
If you emphasize that you see lot of opportunity in applying the knowledge gained in bioinformatics to biotechnology or medical field in general, it will be more convincing.

I would suggest you do some research into how software engineering can support development and innovation in the biotech industry and what you can bring to the table by combining your interest in both.

The onus is on you to sell this idea to the employer, and give them a compelling reason to hire you. You will be competing with other candidates, so use this as a unique selling point that the other candidates don't have.
