Dear Mr Raosaheb Kangane,
My reply is as below:
Diversity Management is a part of HR Management. Therefore, query should have been raised on how to foster diversity amongst the workforce and not just on gender diversity. Before giving the reply further, let me put forth the following important points about workforce diversity:
a) Workforce diversity is business approach.
b) It aims to develop an environment that maximises the potential of all employees by valuing diversity interpersonally and institutionally. It is different from Equal Employment Opportunity
c) It is inclusive of all differences and it moves beyond statistics.
d) It is a voluntary approach and not legally mandated.

Workforce Diversity covers the following factors:
Persons other than the industry
Age group
Gender (includes third gender as well)
Language (especially mother tongue)
Caste or Creed
Geographical location
Educational Institutions
Physically challenged
Physical complexion
To bring diversity, HR plays a vital role. Recruitment is a powerful tool to foster the diversity amongst the workforce. While fostering diversity, there is no need to dilute recruitment standards (except for physically challenged and that too on case-to-case basis). However, mere bringing diversity in workforce is not sufficient. Employees need to be trained on the difference between homogenous and heterogeneous work environment. Heterogeneity is a result of globalisation. Especially if the topic of workforce diversity is included during the induction training itself the better.
