My query to the team is on ESI & Sick Leave details
Employees not covered under ESI are eligible for Sick Leave (days as per company's decision) and can avail the benefit which shall be treated as paid leave but if an employee is covered under ESI, is s/he applicable for the sick leave. Kindly clarify
I do understand that employees apply for sick leave for 1-2 days stating as fever to carry out the personal works and get approved but for ESi covered employee do the organization need to sanction the Sl or mark it as leave without Pay as they can submit claim at ESI office for 1-2 days.

Hi Uds,
Those employees are covered under ESIC will not get benefit of Sick leave. Sick leave provision should be as per statutory (For other employees). Please refer your state S & E Act or Factory Act.
If employee is availing ESIC benefit, you can mark as ESIC Leave and deduct salary for these days.

If esic eligible employee is not go ESIC/ not getting facility from ESIC. Than company will pay for sick leave.
