Applicability of profession tax after implementation of GST?

Please enlighten us on applicability of profession tax after implementation of G.S.T. It is widely professed that all tax liability under the purview of commercial tax department stands merged with G.S.T. Is there any liability to pay PROFESSION tax in KARNATAKA? Please clarify. Harsha

The professional Tax act is not subsumed under GST and it exists a a different act even now. Hence it is applicable as earlier in all the states where ever it was applicable earlier.
