Please tell me, bonus can be paid only operation department and not to support teams. is this discrimination is acceptable?

Statutory bonus does not have such distinction about employees but for the cap on their monthly salary/wages.

thank for for the confirmation. but my query is, as per Shop & Establishment act and Bonus act does it says anything about paying only some departments(Operation/HR/IT) is allowed or not allowed.

Dear Mr Sunil, Please perus ethe reply of Mr Umakanthan sir once again.For payment of Bonus, refer to The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 & Rules, 1975.If the Bonus Act is applicable to an establishment, it applies all those employees coming under the purview of Act.
The Department/Nature of duty performed has nothing to do regarding determining eligibility.
you have not gone through the acts you are mentioning.Please go through the same & revert with your further query, if any

THE PAYMENT OF BONUS ACT, 1965
1*[An Act to provide for the payment of bonus to persons employed in
certain establishments on the basis of profits or on the basis of
production or productivity and for matters connected therewith.]
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Sixteenth Year of the Republic
The wordings says Persons employed and which means all employees and not specific departments only.
A reading of Original Act is always helpful to increase knowledge.
