Sir,
I am going to join in a post, the retirement age of which has been relaxed by the Govt. of India and the State Govt. up to 70 years.
But the entry point age should be over 35 and not more than 60. Since I am joining the post at the age of 59, the retirement benefit
as applicable to the all other employees of the organization at the age of 60, will also be applicable to me or not. I am joining in the
pay-roll. Whether I am entitled to have the P.F, Gratuity, Leave Salary etc.,?
Sir, your reply will help me to take the final decision in regard to joining in the new organization.
with sincere regards,

PF is not mandatory after 58 years of service, Gratuity and leave are to be provided. As regards any other retirement benefit, the position has to be verified from the applicable rules

Sir, thank you for your reply. But it is not fully clear to me. Does it mean that except all other retirement benefit like Leave Salary, Gratuity etc. would be applicable as per organization's norms. But please make it clear whether the gratuity act 1972 permits to have the gratuity even the age beyond 60. Please remember the age bar for this post has been relaxed by the Central Govt. vide notification .
Thanks & regards,

Yes, Gratuity as per PGA 1972 is payable after continuous service of 5 years. It has no correlation with age. So even if the entire service is after 60 years of age, say from 62-67 years of age, the gratuity is payable to him.
