I have a doubt regarding ESI & Employee Compensation Act Applicability to my establishment. ESI is applicable to my company as it falls under ESI covered area and also we have employees whose salary is less than Rs.21,000/-.
1. What if some unwanted accident takes place at the site? Employees who are covered under ESI will be compensated through ESI but what about the employees who are not covered under ESI (Salary drawing more than Rs. 21,000/-)?
2. Can we take ECA for the employees who are drawing more than Rs. 21,000/- so that they are compensated incase of any unwanted incident taking place at the site?
3. Can we cover an employee under both ESI and ECA? As per my knowledge, ECA applicability ceases when an establishment gets covered under ESI.
