Respected senior members i would be grateful if you could help me with this situation...
I am working as a HR executive in a Engineering college. There is a faculty has been absenting from last one month on the information of medical leave. He have sent a doctor certificate by email but it is not mention that how many days will required for recovery.
After that I have sent a letter to him that please submit all relevant medical documents like doctor prescription, reports, medicine bills etc for proving that he is ill but he have neither submitted any documents nor replied till date.
So what can I do. Please suggest me.
Can I terminate him. Is it legally right or not?
Please guide

Conduct a domestic enquiry.
Visit the faculty member at home after giving prior intimation to enquire about his health.
Ask faculty member to submit medical papers and have it examined by your own doctor.
Read the appointment order for his terms and conditions.
How much leave/PL/Casual/Sick leave does the faculty member have?
Send all letters by Speedpost to have record of delivery.
After following due process, faculty member can be terminated,if found justified.
