Hi my name is Evangelin,I have worked in a leading corporate company for 8 years . After maternity I couldn't continue doing night shifts. My due date was on Jan 20 2017. How ever I gave birth to a premature baby. Delivered on Dec 7 th 2016. A month before actual EDD. I got 84 days of Maternity leave with pay 3/3/2017 . I extended my maternity leave for next 3 months without pay. However I couldn't continue working in night shift as my baby did not cope up with other formula milk. I resigned my job on July 12th with one day notice period. Now my company forces me to pay 64000 as notice period amt to get my relieving letter. Please answer me can legally approach them to bypass this amount. My company has no crèche facility to feed my baby during shift.

Please put up the terms of appointment order.
What does it specify regarding notice period pay?
Whether you can legally escape payment depends on terms of appointment and magnanimity of company on this issue.
