hi subha,

As far as i know i would tell you about the leave policy in India.....

There are 3 Leaves which are authorized. they are:-

1) Privilege Leave (PL)

2) Casual Leave (CL)

3) Sick Leave (SL)

Let me guid eon the above types of leaves.

1) Privelege Leave: This type of leave an employee can accumalate only after the completion of 1 year of the his / her service....An employee can accumlate upto 240 days of leave.....

2) Casual Leave: This type of leave is allotted to an employee at the time of joining.....An employee gets 19 days of CL....At the time of the year ending...if the employee has say something around 10 casual leave left den those 10 casual leaves get lapsed and are not carried forwarded to the next year....

3) Sick Leave: In this type of leave an employee can accumlate upto 60 days of leave and this leave gets carried forward to the next year if at all there is some pending SL in the previous year...

I think i have answered your question in some or the other way....

Regards

Ankit

Hi Ankit,
I think this is not correct because in my company, we can take these leaves after completing our probation period of 3 months. In my company, we gets 20 Priviledge leaves,5 casual leaves and 5 sick leaves.

Hi Shweta,
Leave policy can differ from company to company, so there's no point in passing judgements like this. I hope you'll take this in positive manner.
In most of the companies, employees on probation can avail CLs on pro-rated basis as per the duration of Probation time.
Futhermore, few companies have concept of following additonal leaves other than PL,CL, SL:
1) Bereavement Leave - In case of death of any immediate family member.
2) Marriage Leave - Say for a week on account of employee's marriage
3) Parental Leave - Usually 3 day leave to a new father
I hope this would help you all to understand leave management system in more length.

Upasna
