We are engaging labour for power plant construction works. We complied the BOCW act. We are regularly paid Cess payment. Would like to know labour welfare fund is applicable? If applicable what are the procedures to be adhered.

Hi Arivus,
Yes. you need to remit LWF if applicable. Different states have different process for remittance. Kindly confirm name of the state, where you are doing construction activity.
Please call or mail us for any assistance if required
Thanks Mr. Praveen,
We are working at Punjab State.
LWF is applicable? We are having contract labours, These labour strength vary every month. Work nature these labours always moves frequently.
We heard that LWF is applicable for Factory act and permanent establishment. Requesting you to clarify.
Hi Arivus,
LWF is applicable in Punjab and Employees contribution is Rs.5 and Employer contribution is Rs.20 per month. You can deduct from employees every month and total amount collected multiply by 4, that will be employer contribution. Both the amount need to be paid to the department twice in a year (15th July and 15th January).
My query is that LWF is applicable in factories and for labourers only OR it is applicable to private offices also. we are an accouting firm and having 23 accountants , 3 managers and 1 Office Boy.
Kindly guide , shall we deduct LWF ??
