Actually, I met with road accident 2 weeks ago and injured severely. Doctor has advised me to take bed rest for 6 weeks. I have intimated the same to my management. I have requested them to give me 15 days leave and remaining days I wanted to work from home to avoid loss of pay. In response, they asked my medical reports so I have submitted it to them. But, after that they have not revert back to me about my leave approval.
But already the leave period that I have requested is getting completed, still I am not recovered yet, but I want to continue work from home. Since I did not get any response from them, how can I approach them and get approval work from home? please give me some suggestion on this. Also, I heard from my colleagues that my management don't give work from home for all, only selected people get it. Also, I am so sad about that, they have not asked me about my health condition yet, I feel like I dont want work where is no concern about me

I suggest talk to your colleagues and team members to access their views and what your management is thinking about your absence on sickness ground. I don't know the nature of your role, so difficult to comment on the situation.
Can you please disclose your role and position, so that i can give a holistic view and suggestion on the same and how to approach for work from home.

Thank you for response, I work as a software tester in a IT company
I see, your role requires your involvement throughout the software development lifecycle and testing plays a critical role - right from Test Plan to Execution of Test Cases. So if your organization is small and software testers are limited to carry out the testing function vis-a vis the work load and current business requirement to meet the deliverables, then it is possible that they are looking for replacement as well, so they are not responding to you.
So for, work from home is concerned, your role doesn't permit work from home benefit.
So, i suggest, resume duty as soon as possible, atleast go to the office and restrict your movements to your work station only, and have your medicines properly and take ample care of yourself to recover soon.
If you delay, chances are there that they are looking for a replacement very soon.

I came to know that they recruited new people, but I am not sure they are my replacement. I was on bench since a month. Please let me know, Do they have right to terminate me? I have been working for them since 2 years. Most important thing is that my company running without any HR policies
Dear Friend,
The management has all the right to terminate employment (for reasons best known to them) but prior intimation and show cause notice has to be given to present his case. So discuss with your boss and update him on your situation and take update on your employment status as well.
Termination of employment can be voluntary (By resignation) or involuntary by (ceasing your employment for any xyz reason). But in most cases, they are asked to resign voluntarily to avoid unpleasant situation and bitterness in the organization.
So please have a word with your Boss and discuss the matter and current situation whether it's in your favor or not and what you should do. He would be the best arbitrator in this matter.

thank you for your support. As per your suggestion I called and emailed my boss. He neither answered my call nor responded to my email. I am not sure what is wrong with them.
Visit them personally to understand the situation. Probably they are avoiding you.
Call your boss on landline number or from unknown number, am sure, he will pick up your call.

thank you very much for your valuable suggestions, I appreciate it. I have been to office and talked to my HR manager. He understood my situation and spoke to management and assigned me work from home.
