Can you please guide if construction contractor register under BOCW, we need to get him registered under CLR Act. Its green field Project.

Hi.
Yes. If contractor engaged more than 10 employees in construction activity, then he need to obtain BOCW license and If he engage more than specified contract emploees (Statewise differs (Karnataka above 19, Maharashtra above 49 employees)), then he need to obtain CLRA license.

One can not simply engage contract labour on strength of registration under BOCW. The contractor has to obtain licence under CL(R&A) Act,1970, if number of engagement is more than the limit.

license to be obtained for more than 20 employee under CL(R&A) Act,1970 and for strength above 10 registeraation under BOCW required.

Registration under CLA is applicable for Principal Employer.Consequently, PE has to do due diligence & proceed accordingly.Green Field Projects are not exempted from any Labour Laws
