We have a procedure that any contract workman is working in the factory they should be cover in ESIC. Every month they renew their gate pass through time office after verification of ESIC deposited receipt. It take one or two days to complete the work which is man power loss that we are suffering. My factory is in UP.
Can we covered them in mediclaim policy so that the gate pass should be valid for an year? Is it legal ? What documents needed for this as per factory law ?

Yes you can cover them under mediclaim policy if there salary is over and above 21,000/- and if not then they should be covered under ESIC only.
